A day before the show

Less than 24 hours before the show and I couldn’t stop listening to Nepathya’s music. I was extremely thrilled to attend the show the next day. It was a dream come true for me. I knew it was definitely going to be a once in a lifetime experience for me. I couldn’t wait for the next morning to come so we could start our journey to see the legend perform live.

Travel (Katherine – Darwin)

My wife, sister, friend and I were all ecstatic for our trip to Darwin, leaving Katherine at 3PM, an hour earlier than planned. The 3 hour drive felt like a breeze with Nepathya’s music and my sister trying to memorize the lyrics by heart, in order to fully immerse herself in the concert experience. We couldn’t wait to see the band perform live! We arrived in Darwin at 6PM, meeting up with 2 more friends for a group of 6. It was a trip to remember with my crazy loved ones by my side, and the drive was the cherry on top of an already amazing day!

The show – Legend on stage

We arrived at the Darwin Entertainment Centre exactly on time at 7:30 PM and the excitement was palpable in the air. The music was already playing, but Nepathya had not yet taken the stage. We purchased drinks for ourselves and waited eagerly for Nepathya to take the stage.

As I stood there in the Darwin Entertainment Centre, my childhood legend, Nepathya, joined the stage and started performing live right in front of me. It was a surreal experience and I couldn’t believe my luck. As soon as they appeared, the hooting and cheering from the crowd was deafening. The band opened with their hit song “Bhatbhate” and it was an instant energy boost for the crowd. Nepathya’s energy on stage was absolutely electric, it felt like it could have crushed stars. Nepathya’s performance was nothing short of mesmerizing, their energy and passion for music was contagious. Their live performance felt even better than their recordings and I was in awe of their musicianship.

One of the highlights of the concert was when Nepathya performed “Veda ko un jasto“, the atmosphere in the venue was transformed into a winter wonderland with fake snow falling from the ceiling. The audience was in awe of the realistic snowfall and it added to the magic of the performance. The band’s energy and the snowfall created an unforgettable experience, it was as if we were transported to a different place and time. The song’s powerful lyrics and melody coupled with the snowfall made it an emotional and mesmerizing performance. It was a truly remarkable moment in the concert.

Patriotism awakened

As Nepathya performed at the show, I couldn’t help but feel a deep connection to my homeland, Nepal. The lyrics and accompanying video on the screen brought back memories of my country and its rich culture. The band’s vocalist, Amrit Gurung, had a way of evoking a sense of pride in our identity as Nepalese and the importance of preserving our heritage. The song also touched on the issues of Nepalese abroad seeking employment and how it could be alleviated through the development of Nepal.

Throughout the concert, every song reminded me of the beauty and richness of my country Nepal. The song “Yo Jindagi” and the video of “Manavsewa Ashram” charity in the background made me realize the dire need for support and funding for Nepal and how I can make a difference by donating. The song “Naina Taal” made me reflect on the bravery of my ancestors and their contributions as Gurkhas. The last song “Rato ra chandra surya” gave me chills and brought me to the brink of tears. It was a powerful and emotional experience that reminded me of the deep love and appreciation I have for my homeland. It was an experience that left us all in awe, a truly powerful and unforgettable one.

Unforgettable punch lines

As a listener, I am struck not only by the melodic beauty of Nepathya’s songs, but also by the powerful and meaningful punch lines that convey deep patriotic messages. As a Nepalese living abroad, these lines resonate with me in a very emotional way, reminding me of my love and connection to my homeland, Nepal. Through this lines, Nepathya encourages us Nepalese to never forget my roots and to always hold on to my love and pride for my country. Some of the eye-watering punch lines that were delivered during the show were:

  • “Afno baccha harulai ya base ni Nepali sikaunu haiiiiiiii”
    Translation: Instill the love for your heritage in your children by teaching them the Nepalese language, even when living abroad.
  • “Kati manche rahar le gaye kati kara le. Lahor jane chalan pailai dekhi thyo tara farkera chai Nepal aaunu haiiiiiiii”
    Translation: Though some may leave Nepal by choice and others by circumstance, the tradition of going abroad should never compromise the ultimate goal of returning home to contribute to the betterment of our beloved country.
  • “Nepal ko maya namarnu haiiiiiiii”
    Translation: Always be devoted towards Nepal and don’t stop loving your country.

Summary

In summary, attending the Nepathya concert in Darwin was a dream come true for me. The energy and passion of the band, coupled with the powerful lyrics and patriotic messages, made for a truly unforgettable experience. The concert reminded me of my deep love and connection to my homeland, Nepal, and the importance of preserving our heritage. The band’s punch lines, added an extra magic to the performance. I left the concert feeling proud to be a Nepalese and grateful for the opportunity to experience such a powerful and emotional event. The concert gave me a chance to reflect on how I can make a difference by donating, preserving and supporting my country. It was a once in a lifetime experience that I will always remember.
